Sparkling Wintry Sensations

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle "Sparkling Wintry Sensations" blog hop!  If you hopped here by way of the very talented Karin, then you're in the right spot.  If you'd like to start from the beginning and become eligible for SIX great prizes, then click here
I have a few cards for your viewing enjoyment so grab that cup of peppermint cocoa and  enjoy the show.

Here is a beautiful Menorah with  the candles lit with Raspberry Soda and Lemonade Glitter. The Menorah is embossed with Black Detail  Embossing Powder and backed with  rich  silver mirror card stock. Since I used mirror card stock it is hard to photograph but in person it is rich and elegant.  To create this card  I used the Swirl Menorah and Happy Chanukah  from the Jewish Stamp Set #388.  I  used 8 different colors of Semi-Transparent Glitter glitter for the 8 day festival of light. Detailed instructions for this card are here.

My next card  I continued with the Chanukah Theme and  made a card with the  dreidel , a four-sided spinning top with a Hebrew letter on each side. It is used during Chanukah to play a popular children's game that involves spinning the dreidel and betting on which Hebrew letter will be showing when the dreidel stops spinning. The Dreidel, Star of David and Sentiment can be found on the Jewish Stamp Set #388. I kept this card simple using  mostly the colors of the Israeli Flag, Blue for the water and White for the sky with Silver  and Gold Detail Embossing Powder and Golden Sparkle Embossing Powder.  I used an embossing folder for the back ground and  Spellbinders Octagons along with Ribbon Tag Trio. Detailed instructions for this card are here.

If you have visited my blog in previous blog hops you know I like a little humor.  Oy Vey , woe is me. I thought  I was headed to the South Pole where the penguins are instead  I  hit shore at North Beach ??? For this creation I used the Knit Hat Pengie  and the Sun and Palm Tree from Stamp Set 158 Tropical  with a little bit of  Hit The Beach Embossing Powder and Poolside Embossing Powder and finish it off with Sparkle Embossing Powder. Detailed instructions for this card are here.

You have to love those frogs, Moonlight Serenade here and he is singing.   He is so into it that his lily pad has ice and snow on it. He borrowed his  Santa hat from Santa Chimney. He is framed with Spellbinders Labels 13 and the sentiment is computer generated then cut with Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio. Instructions on how to put this card together are here.
It is time now to refill your cocoa mug and .........
Perhaps I am one of "The Five" with a secondary prize, so don't forget to leave a comment to become eligible for the Grand Prize and one of the 5 secondary prizes, then hop over to merry Marie .

What a wonderful assortment of cards! I love the darling penguin on the island, so sweet and creative to make a little scene! Great embossing on everything too :)

As usual, Linda, I am charmed by the diversity of cards on your blog. The elegance of your Menorah Card with details in the glitter shading, the beauty of the Dreidel Card in classic colors, but my favorite is the OY VEY global warming card! LOL Always can expect irony and humor on your blog, and I look forward to it every time! :-) The serenading frog is a MAN, right? A woman would certainly notice the changes in weather and take appropriate steps LOL Thanks for the treat of your cards!

On your first 2 cards the colors were great...made it stand out. Your "fun" cards are fun! The first one reminds me of the little penguin that ended up in Australia recently. Your last card .... always time to celebrate. All were neat!

Hi Linda, Thank you for the first Hanukah cards of the blog hop! I especially am in owe in front of the first one and the way you built the background to make it look like a mirror. Now, the last one is especially appropriate for us in southern California. Thank you so much for sharing and providing us with those wonderful ideas...

Excellent cards! I really love how you used the mirror card stock to show off the menorah and dreidel. But I'll be 'borrowing' your penguin/beach card to send to all my poor family who aren't lucky enough to live in Tampa!
