January 2014 Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop

I am happy that it is the last Tuesday in January for several reasons, one it is time for the Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop, two we are closer to spring and three I am in the beautiful state of Wyoming working this week. I am taking a break from the sub zero ArticVortex temperatures we have been experiencing in Michigan for some normal winter temperatures in the teens and twenties.

The hop starts on  at 8:00AM  Tuesday January 28, 2014 and closes at  Midnight Friday January 31, 2014.
If you are following the order of the blog hop you should have arrived here by way of Alissa.

I really enjoyed creating the card I have for you today.  I used the latest release from Heartfelt Creations named Majestic Morning.  It  has beautiful papers, dies and stamps like we have come to expect from Heartfelt Creations.  Here is a spectacular video to watch if you need ideas on how to make the flowers from this release.

Today is my last post for the Heartfelt Creations Design Team. It has been a wonderful year on my journey. Heartfelt Creations  stamps, dies, beautiful papers and designers have never failed to inspire me.  Today I have two cards for you, one from the Sweet Juliet Collection and one from a few of my favorites.

When I get new stamps and dies I hold them at all different angles to see what I can see. Here a teacup is also a skirt or dress and a heart is also a bodice and look, a corner die is lace......

Please stop by the Heartfelt Creations blog for instructions and to see what the designers have for you.

Thank you so very much for your patronage.  As they say on the popular show, Duck Dynasty...she gone'

Our Daily Bread Designs Stampin In Time Challenge SNTODBD48

Since it is the eve of Thanksgving I thought that I would try something new for me, a challenge from  Our Daily Bread Designs and a chance to think of how thankful I am to be able to share my creativity.    I have admired the designers cards on ODBD site.  They create such beautiful cards.  The Bread Basket Bundle that is available each month is becoming by spiritual sustenance.

The theme for the challenge  is to create a Christmas card, gift packaging, gift ideas or anything festive with a Christmas theme.

I used the Spellbinders 2011 Heirloom Ornaments S4-334, ODBD stamps Vintage Border Background, Holiday Ornaments, Christmas Verses and Christmas Rose.  The stamps  and Spellbinders Die can be found here, one stop shopping. Check out the Bread Basket Bundle a great value.
The inks I used are Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Black Stazon  and VersaMark. I colored the Christmas Rose with mica from Lindys Stamp Gang and the center of the Christmas Rose is Mini Prills and Mica D'Lights from US Art Quest. I also used a few Martha Stewart punches, thick gold embossing powder and a Cheery Lynne die  I hope you enjoy the card as much as I enjoyed creating it.

TSC24 Ribbons and Lace

Do you remember Janis Joplin  belting out the tune  "Oh Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz" with her unique raspy voice.
I was inspired by her uniqueness to create this card for The Stampsmith Challenge Ribbons and Lace.

I made a lace background using a piece of lace, sticker paper and glitter then added a piece of cardstock that I embossed with  Peace signs,  cut a Butterfly from a Spellbinders die and painted with Mica Paints from US Art Quest added some pearls, Flowers Soft an antenae. I stamped Janis with versamark on to hot pink and embossed with black embossing power.  I added two rows of funky ribbon, one velvet and one textured.  You can fine Janis along with Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and John Lennon all on the Rock and Roll, sheet just click here.

Here is another take of the picture it  shows the detail in the lace.

Boo!

Here is a card I made for  The Stampsmith Challenge.  This is my first challenge. I thought it would be nothing but fun since I just simply love the photo stamps  from The Stampsmith.
I do not know what scares me more Lucy's expression or the big spider.

Do you have The Blues Brewin'? (click for song)

I have always liked listening to the blues. Billie Holiday nicknamed Lady Day is one of my favorites.  Estelle at  The Stampsmith has a wonderful Bille Holiday stamp along with other late great artists. All of the movie star photostamps can be found here,  there will be a prompt for Username and Password both are  "movies" with no quotations. It is well worth the click.

It was such a beautiful Sunday here in Michigan  I wanted to sing out.....rejoice. Here is what I came up with.  I was also playing with  free photo editing software Picasa and Picnik.  Enjoy your time here no one is in a rush.
