TSC36: Monochromatic White

“If I’m honest I have to tell you I still read fairy-tales and I like them best of all.”
   Audrey Hepburn

I created this tag for The Stampsmith Challenge.  This is a Monochromatic White Tag.  I added feathers, pearls, chunky glitter and  to Audrey Hepburn's Crown a Swarkowski Crystal (similar to Swarovski).

The flowers were cut from CTMH Artiste cricut cartridge, the leaves were cut from CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cartridge. The Venetian Mask and border were cut with Spellbinders.   I posted the lower picture so you can see how dimensional this beautiful white tag is. Enjoy!

Autumn is in the air and it is time to give Thanks!

It is a grey day today in Michigan, where I live. The wind is shaking the  last golden leaves that remained on the trees branches.  As I glance out the window and watch  the changes  that appear I  think of the many people, places and things I am thankful for.

I had stamped this image from The Stampsmith on a piece of glossy card stock many moons ago. Last night I added color to it with distress inks via a q-tip. I had Pheasant feathers on my table. I have wanted to use these for awhile.  Growing up in the 60's we had  an abundance of Pheasants  in Michigan. Now it is rare that I see one. They have beautiful feathers.  I have many fond memories of Autumn days and my brothers hunting and the Pheasants they would bring home.  I made a few Mums using Heartfelt Creations  Delicate Asters stamp and matching die.  I added  a flourish and mats using Spellbinders dies. I made a couple of stick pins with beads I had. I dyed some seam binding  using the distress inks dried it and sprayed it with Perfect Pearls.   I sprayed Perfect Pearls on my flowers and leaves. When everything was good and dry I put it all together.
I am thankful that my Good Lord as  given me  the direction to express my individuality.

I have entered this card in the following challenges:

TSC33: Anything Goes

I have been in  the beautiful state of Wyoming working for three weeks. Wyoming has many beautiful colors in the mountains and valleys, a lot of inspiration.
I am featuring a card for  The Stampsmith Challenge 33: Anything Goes.   I chose a stamp from the sheet "Shall We Dance" found in the movies section. If you need help getting there e-mail Estelle and she will gladly guide you.

I stamped the image on glossy cardstock with black archival ink then added color with distress inks. I made the flowers with  punches and the rose with a spellbinders die. The rose is made from the same dp as the matting dp. I added ribbon that I colored and  die cut leaves and flourishes.  This card will put a smile on anyones face.   Thank you for taking your time to visit.

An Evening in Paris

TSC25: Shimmer, Sparkle & Shine  is the challenge at  The Stampsmith Challenge  right now.  I chose to create an evening  in Paris. Perhaps you  were there and experienced the fireworks above the Eiffel Tower.  The tower is so glimmery when it is illuminated in the evening.

Here are two  angles of the card. I used the Paris Art Rubber stamps from The Stampsmith. The rubber stamps can be found at   The Stampsmith on-line store here.
I colored the sky with distress ink, outlined the lights on the tower with a white gel pen,  embossed a few fireworks and added colored prills and mica to the fireworks.  I used  the following Spellbinders Dies - 2011 Snowflake Pendant, Ovals, Rectangles and Fleur de Lis Rectangles. The background paper started out as a piece of white copy paper which I copied the lyrics to Auld Lang Syne then cut it to the size I wanted. I then crunched the paper then straighten it out and applied distress inks. I stamped some fireworks with distress ink and embossed a few with gold embossing powder.  I  applied Glossy Perfect Paper Adhesive and Crystal Effects (US Art Quest) for the shimmer.  I blinged up my snowflake to look like a swirling firework and added some ribbon.  Thanks for stopping by.

TSC24 Ribbons and Lace

Do you remember Janis Joplin  belting out the tune  "Oh Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz" with her unique raspy voice.
I was inspired by her uniqueness to create this card for The Stampsmith Challenge Ribbons and Lace.

I made a lace background using a piece of lace, sticker paper and glitter then added a piece of cardstock that I embossed with  Peace signs,  cut a Butterfly from a Spellbinders die and painted with Mica Paints from US Art Quest added some pearls, Flowers Soft an antenae. I stamped Janis with versamark on to hot pink and embossed with black embossing power.  I added two rows of funky ribbon, one velvet and one textured.  You can fine Janis along with Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and John Lennon all on the Rock and Roll, sheet just click here.

Here is another take of the picture it  shows the detail in the lace.

Beware of what goes bump in the night!

Hallow's Eve is closer then you think.   I had so much fun making one Halloween Card for                The Stampsmith Challenge that I decided to to it again.

I used a stamp from the  Those Were the Days 1950"s . There are so many great stamps on this sheet of rubber.  You can make all sorts of cards with them,  believe me I have.  Need ideas e-mail me and I will share some with you.

I also used Spellbinders Dies, Heartfelt Creations Dies, I Am Roses, Tattered Angels Black Chalkboard,  Tim Holtz Distress Inks ( Peeled Paint and Orange Marmalade). This is a 6 x 6 inch card.

Play along in the Challenge it is never too much fun.

Do you have The Blues Brewin'? (click for song)

I have always liked listening to the blues. Billie Holiday nicknamed Lady Day is one of my favorites.  Estelle at  The Stampsmith has a wonderful Bille Holiday stamp along with other late great artists. All of the movie star photostamps can be found here,  there will be a prompt for Username and Password both are  "movies" with no quotations. It is well worth the click.

It was such a beautiful Sunday here in Michigan  I wanted to sing out.....rejoice. Here is what I came up with.  I was also playing with  free photo editing software Picasa and Picnik.  Enjoy your time here no one is in a rush.
