The Year In Review - Not Just Another Blog Hop

Helloooooo,
It is hard to imagine that 525,260 minutes have gone by (that is one year).  What is even harder to believe is how many of those minutes I have spent paper crafting, thinking about paper crafting , planning paper crafting, looking at others paper crafting or and/or dreaming about paper crafting.
Karin over at  With an "i" For Paper has  encouraged you and I to join in and display  12 of our favorite paper crafting creations  that we have made in 2011.
So just pick out your favorite cards/creations from the  past year, and post them on your blog. Then go over to Karin's blog With an "i" For Paper and put your name in the Linky spot and let the OMG! and LOL! and TFS! begin.
All Karin asks is that you limit the number of your cards/creations you choose to 12 ( one for each month of the year) and post a photo of the button at the top of your post and link back to With an "i" For Paper.

Here are 12 of my Favortie Things.

Our Daily Bread Designs Stampin In Time Challenge SNTODBD48

Since it is the eve of Thanksgving I thought that I would try something new for me, a challenge from  Our Daily Bread Designs and a chance to think of how thankful I am to be able to share my creativity.    I have admired the designers cards on ODBD site.  They create such beautiful cards.  The Bread Basket Bundle that is available each month is becoming by spiritual sustenance.

The theme for the challenge  is to create a Christmas card, gift packaging, gift ideas or anything festive with a Christmas theme.

I used the Spellbinders 2011 Heirloom Ornaments S4-334, ODBD stamps Vintage Border Background, Holiday Ornaments, Christmas Verses and Christmas Rose.  The stamps  and Spellbinders Die can be found here, one stop shopping. Check out the Bread Basket Bundle a great value.
The inks I used are Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Black Stazon  and VersaMark. I colored the Christmas Rose with mica from Lindys Stamp Gang and the center of the Christmas Rose is Mini Prills and Mica D'Lights from US Art Quest. I also used a few Martha Stewart punches, thick gold embossing powder and a Cheery Lynne die  I hope you enjoy the card as much as I enjoyed creating it.

TSC24 Ribbons and Lace

Do you remember Janis Joplin  belting out the tune  "Oh Lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz" with her unique raspy voice.
I was inspired by her uniqueness to create this card for The Stampsmith Challenge Ribbons and Lace.

I made a lace background using a piece of lace, sticker paper and glitter then added a piece of cardstock that I embossed with  Peace signs,  cut a Butterfly from a Spellbinders die and painted with Mica Paints from US Art Quest added some pearls, Flowers Soft an antenae. I stamped Janis with versamark on to hot pink and embossed with black embossing power.  I added two rows of funky ribbon, one velvet and one textured.  You can fine Janis along with Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix and John Lennon all on the Rock and Roll, sheet just click here.

Here is another take of the picture it  shows the detail in the lace.

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle It's a Cultural Thing Blog Hop!

If you hopped here by way of the Sparkle N Sprinkle home blog then you are ready to start.  This is my last blog hop as a designer on the Sparkle N Sprinkle Design team, my card says it all to my fellow Design Team Members and to you the hoppers that participate  and those of you who just look.... YOU'RE FANTASTIC.

I used one of my favorite far east stamp sets to create this thank you card.  You can find the Stamp Set 177 Asian 2 Japanese Lady by clicking here.  I used four stamps from this set to create this card.  I stamped the Japanese Lady on watercolor paper with Stazon and used markers and a water color brush to color her.  I added Celestial Glitter G1031 to her collar and outlined the hexagons on her robe with Starfire Glitter G1017. I embossed the Lanterns with Gold Detail EP168 then colored and cut them out. I embossed the sentiment on watercolor paper with Red Apple EP276 then cut it out with  Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two.  Check out that cool side border.  If you would like to look at the complete instructions then click here.
All of my cards that I have designed for Sparkle N Sprinkle can be found here then type in my name and click on go.

I would like to thank each of you for stopping by and remember to leave a comment to become eligible for  the four great prizes, now I am sending you over to the Amazing Amanda Reed.

If you'd like to start from the beginning  and become eligible for the Grand Prize and five other mystery prizes, then click here to go to Sparkle N Sprinkle.
The first card I have created  happens after the first frost, when the roses wilt slightly and turn a deeper shade.  To make the Rose and Rose Buds I used Spellbinders Die  Rose Creations S5-050 and Foliage S4-328.The lable is Fancy Tags One S4-235 and Petie Ovals S4-140. The back ground  was cut from a Lace Die. The centers of the Roses are accented with  Autumn Fire Glitter Tinsel , the lace is accented with  Flaming Orange Glitter, Meadow Spark Glitter and Bridal Glitter. The sentiment is embossed with Bullfrog Embossing Powder. The complete recipe for this card can be found here.

The next card I created is for Halloween even though the days and nights might  be getting cooler Nikki is still HOT!  This is just a fun card. I picked the Bubbling Caldron , Nikki Witch Diva and the sentiment I'm Still Hot!, colored with Copics added a few die cut flames and  glitters to highlight, embossed the sentiment with Jazzy Orange Embossing Powder EP272. The complete recipe for this card can be found here.

My last card is a reminder to be thankful and all pumpkins are not Orange.
To create this card I used Spellbinders Pumpkin and  Maple Leaf Dies.  Each Pumpkin has a different treatment. The largest has subtle veining made with Memento New Sprout Ink 99618 and sentiment  "You're always in my thoughts" from the new stamp set Thoughtful Frames 436.  The medium Pumpkin's sentiment Happy Thanksgiving is embossed with Harvest Nights Embossing Powder. The small Pumpkin is completely covered with Harvest Nights Embossing Powder. For the right amount of bling I added a little  Autumn Medley Glitter. Sparkling Wintry Sensations

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle "Sparkling Wintry Sensations" blog hop!  If you hopped here by way of the very talented Karin, then you're in the right spot.  If you'd like to start from the beginning and become eligible for SIX great prizes, then click here
I have a few cards for your viewing enjoyment so grab that cup of peppermint cocoa and  enjoy the show.

Here is a beautiful Menorah with  the candles lit with Raspberry Soda and Lemonade Glitter. The Menorah is embossed with Black Detail  Embossing Powder and backed with  rich  silver mirror card stock. Since I used mirror card stock it is hard to photograph but in person it is rich and elegant.  To create this card  I used the Swirl Menorah and Happy Chanukah  from the Jewish Stamp Set #388.  I  used 8 different colors of Semi-Transparent Glitter glitter for the 8 day festival of light. Detailed instructions for this card are here.

My next card  I continued with the Chanukah Theme and  made a card with the  dreidel , a four-sided spinning top with a Hebrew letter on each side. It is used during Chanukah to play a popular children's game that involves spinning the dreidel and betting on which Hebrew letter will be showing when the dreidel stops spinning. The Dreidel, Star of David and Sentiment can be found on the Jewish Stamp Set #388. I kept this card simple using  mostly the colors of the Israeli Flag, Blue for the water and White for the sky with Silver  and Gold Detail Embossing Powder and Golden Sparkle Embossing Powder.  I used an embossing folder for the back ground and  Spellbinders Octagons along with Ribbon Tag Trio. Detailed instructions for this card are here.

If you have visited my blog in previous blog hops you know I like a little humor.  Oy Vey , woe is me. I thought  I was headed to the South Pole where the penguins are instead  I  hit shore at North Beach ??? For this creation I used the Knit Hat Pengie  and the Sun and Palm Tree from Stamp Set 158 Tropical  with a little bit of  Hit The Beach Embossing Powder and Poolside Embossing Powder and finish it off with Sparkle Embossing Powder. Detailed instructions for this card are here.

You have to love those frogs, Moonlight Serenade here and he is singing.   He is so into it that his lily pad has ice and snow on it. He borrowed his  Santa hat from Santa Chimney. He is framed with Spellbinders Labels 13 and the sentiment is computer generated then cut with Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio. Instructions on how to put this card together are here.
It is time now to refill your cocoa mug and .........
Perhaps I am one of "The Five" with a secondary prize, so don't forget to leave a comment to become eligible for the Grand Prize and one of the 5 secondary prizes, then hop over to merry Marie .
