Sparkle N Sprinkle Non Traditional Mother's Day Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Non Traditional Mother's Day Blog Hop, which begins at the SNS Home Blog here (click on here).  If you hopped here by way of the amazing  Julie Warner's you are right on track.
Hopefully you have been enjoying the marvelous cards presented by my fellow Sparkle Team designers.  Our Mother's Day inspired hop  is non traditional because we are displaying cards which honor special women in our lives, whether they are Moms or not.  We hope you will enjoy these feminine cards, and perhaps create something special for the dear women who regularly  and meaningfully touch your life.

Today I have three cards to share with you.  Each card represents  particular women who have  been a part of my life. I hope they make you smile.

This card is for all the women who mother a child other than their own, for what ever reason, we thank you. I used the Stamp Set 426 Easter Chicks .  I added a little Sparkle N Soft Sun Dazzle SS112 to my Chick to make her/him warm and fuzzy. The Bunny has a little Pink Spirit SS108 Sparkle N Soft in her ears. There is also a little glitz (glitter) too, Orange Surprise G1010, Dazzling Rose G1085, Shell Pink G1022 and Sparkling Snow G1003 all of these fantastic products are available at Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Here is card number two. If the shoe fits, buy more then one pair.  When I was  in college I would buy a pair of shoes and then make a dress to match..... my good friend loved to borrow my shoes...... Today we still borrow from each other when we are in need of that certain unique item.

I stamped this shoe  three times on different paper and paper pieced it, colored with Copic markers and added a little Fiery Fushia Glitter G1004 to the shoe.  I used a Spellbinders die to frame the shoe and highlighted the frame with Parisian Mist Glitter G1017. The  Parisian Mist Glitter matches the green paper perfectly.

When I made this card I was thinking of  a TV show that ran  in the late 60's early 70's  "The Courtship of Eddie's Father", Mrs. Livingston was there for Eddie.

I used the stamp set 177 Asian 2 - Japanese Lady.  The collar of her kimono is decorated with Golden Sparkle Embossing Powder EP106 and Mauve Gone Wild Glitter G1073. The cloisonne flowers were made  with the flower from the stamp set and  Gold Detail Embossing Powder EP168.  I braided 5 strands of embroidery floss to to make my tassel.

Thanks for glancing at my cards and leaving a comment before hoping on over to the talented Patti White's for further displays to inspire you. Remember to leave some comment love at each blog. I  hope you win a prize.

Linda, your cards have brought a huge smile to my face! The chickies and bunny are pure delight! The shoe is GORGEOUS! (GLAD I clicked on the photo to see the details up close). Mrs. Livingston was the best, wasn't she? Your Asian lady is detailed beautifully with such great attention to colors and textures!

The first card reminds me of the book Are You My Mother.

I like the idea of buying the shoes, then making the dress!

I love the glitter on the last card.

All of your cards have tons of texture to them! That in and of itself makes them unique.

Great cards! Love the humor of the first card ......... just like the Dr. Seuss book Are You My Mother that I had to read to my son over and over and over because it was his favorite book when he was little. All three cards are outstanding in their own category because they are so different from each other.

Love all three cards. The first reminds me of the book Are You My Mother. Loved that book growing up and then sharing with my children. It just reminds me that even the neighbors children are mine too. It takes a community to raise our children. The other cards are great too. What woman doesn't love shoes! Thank you.

All three of these are incredible, but I love the creativity shown in the first with the chick and bunny! That one really touches my heart. I have a dear friend who has a blended family and all the kids are "her" kids! I may have to CASE that one to send to her. Thanks so much for sharing that idea.

I enjoyed all your cards, but particularly your third one with the Japanese Lady. The colors you chose are so pretty. I always liked Bill Bixby & Miyoshi Umeki on that show & others they did.
